I started my own girls in the kitchen when they were around 2, letting them help scoop, pour, and crack eggs. While it’s not the cleanest time it helps them develop so many skills, including confidence, they need to be productive adults one day. Ok… enough with my mom talk lol! Back to the sheet pan nacho recipe.
What kind of meat do you use for SHEET PAN NACHOS?
You can pretty much use anything to your liking but here are some suggestions:
- ground beef
- ground venison (deer meat, this is what I used for mine)
- shredded chicken
- cubed grilled chicken
- shredded pork
Can I make vegetarian SHEET PAN NACHOS?
Girl, of course! It’s your kitchen you can do whatever tastes good! Some suggestions:
- black beans
- refried beans
What kitchen tools do I need to make this delicious main course?
- cutting board
- sharp knife
- sheet pan
- parchment paper (not necessary but helps with cleanup)
- pan to cook the meat (I use cast iron always)
Ingredient & topping suggestions for oven nachos?
Pretty much anything you like on a taco or regular nachos will be oh so delicious on the sheet pan variety too.
Here’s a few nacho topping suggestions:
- 1 lb of cooked ground meat with taco seasoning, I used venison but you can you beef, chicken, or pork.
- 1 bag of your favorite tortilla chips
- shredded cheese, the amount will depend on much you love cheese (if you are like my family it’s a LOT) we used pepperjack and Monterey.
- sour cream
- creamy queso cheese sauce
- diced tomatoes
- green onions
- jalapenos
- corn
- black beans
- refried beans
- salsa
- taco rice
Step 1- preheat oven
You’ll want to preheat your oven to 400 degrees. That way it’s ready to go when you are (I might forget this step sometimes and get impatient)
Step 2- cook the meat
Cook your nacho meat of choice to your liking. We cooked up a pound of venison we had in the freezer then added taco seasoning to it.
Step 3- assemble nachos
- line sheet pan with parchment paper
- add entire bag of chips
- sprinkle with your favorite cheese
- load on your toppings to your liking (except for sour cream)
Step 4- bake
Pop that bad boy in the oven and let it bake for approximately 4-6 minutes, till the chips look crispy and cheese is a golden brown.
Pull out of the oven and let it cool prior to eating.
Top with sour cream & salsa to your liking
Step 5- enjoy
This is the best part…serve them right off the pan. When I say we scarfed these down right at the kitchen counter I’m not joking. No plates, just my girls and I gathered around the sheet pan nachos stuffing our faces with all the deliciousness it offered.
How to Make Sheet Pan Nachos
Equipment
- 1 knife
- 1 cutting board
- 1 skillet
- 1 large sheet pan
- parchment paper
Ingredients
- 1 lb taco seasoned ground meat I used venison but you can use beef, chicken, or pork
- 1 bag tortilla chips
- 12 oz shredded cheese I used pepperjack and Monterrey
- 4 oz queso cheese sauce
- 2 stalks cut up chives
- 1 small diced tomato
- black beans
- corn
- refried beans
- sour cream add after baking
- salsa add after baking
Instructions
- You'll want to preheat your oven to 400 degrees. That way it's ready to go when you are (I might forget this step sometimes and get impatient)
